Arriving an hour and fifteen minutes early to Schipol (Wow, that never happens, thank you KLM!) gave us more than 7 hours at the airport, plenty of time to get to the trains and head for Amsterdam central.   Raining but 24 degrees,  we had a wander over the canals and through the narrow streets before stopping for a pannkoeek and heading back to the airport.

Bicycles are a preferred method of transportation and are everywhere, we even saw a three story parking garage, just for bikes.

Distinct architecture and tall narrow buildings line the canals.
